If our online store has sold out of a currently-advertised line, we will happily issue you a ‘raincheck’. As soon as new stock arrives, this assures you of being able to buy the original item (or a comparable product) at the advertised price – even if the original promotion has ended. Naturally, this cannot apply to the items that have been advertised as ‘limited’, ‘discounted’ or ‘clearance’ lines.


Shop with confidence with our 14 day money back guarantee. For ‘Change of Mind’ purchases, goods can only be accepted for refund or exchange in unmarked, original condition and packaging, complete with all instruction books, accessories, etc. All returns must be accompanied by your Sales Docket/Tax Invoice.

Note: Refunds on ‘Change of Mind’ purchases do not apply to batteries, semi-conductors, video games, music CDs, music cassettes, headphones, health products, VHS video movies, video/audio recording tapes, DVD movie titles, computer software, contracted mobile phones, or pre-paid phone or internet services and electronic account recharges.

If purchased through our Online Store or Direct Sales a Return Authority Number (also referred to as an RA Number) is required before you return this stock. Contact 08 8088 4098 to obtain an RA Number.


Broken Hill Hobbies and Electronics offers customers one year warranty unless specified otherwise. The warranty is a warranty on all our products. Warranties imposed or implied by statute, save to the extent that any statutory warranties are excluded in this document, and it does not limit any rights which our customers may have against any manufacturers, importers or suppliers of a product. The warranty period is as may be specified by Broken Hill Hobbies and Electronics in any particular case. Our sales staff will be happy to identify any products which carry a longer warranty period. Our warranty is that if any defect in materials or workmanship is identified and notified to us within the warranty period then we will, at our option, either:

– Repair or replace the product, or

– Take back the product and refund your money.

Note that all return shipping costs, that is the cost to you to return goods to us are not refundable. A restocking fee of 30% of the product RRP may apply.

Broken Hill Hobbies and Electronics does not accept any liability beyond this, and does not accept any liability for consequential loss. Our liability under the warranty is subject to us being satisfied that a defect was caused by defective workmanship or materials and was not caused by or substantially contributed to by other factors or circumstances beyond our control, including (but not limited to) defective installation, maintenance or repair; alteration or modification of the product in a manner not recommended by the manufacturers; or any neglect, misuse or excessive use. Warranties do not extend to, and we are not liable for any damage to articles to which a product is attached or with which it is used, or for the consequences of a product being used for any purpose for which it has not been designed or for use which is not recommended by the manufacturers.


Please keep your sales docket/tax invoice, including cash register receipt in a safe place as these will prove the commencement of your warranty period. If your purchase requires warranty service within the warranty period, we ask that you produce a sales docket/tax invoice when returning the product under warranty for repair.


We exclude from our contract with you, all the terms, conditions and warranties which are implied by statute or by the general law in contracts for the supply of goods and services, to the extent that their exclusion is permitted by law. The statutory warranties implied under Division 2 of Part V of the Trade Practices Act are not excluded if the goods are of a kind which are ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption. Where the goods purchased are of a kind which are ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, then our liability in respect of a breach of warranty implied under Division 2 of Part V of the Trade Practices Act is limited to the replacement or repair of the goods, or the payment by us of the cost of replacing or repairing the goods, or the cost of acquiring equivalent goods (whichever is the lowest sum).


New items are continually being sourced and added to our range to cater for as wide a range of needs as possible. A great deal of effort is put into searching and sourcing new products so talk to us as it is possible for us to purchase special items for individual customers outside our normal range. We will do our very best to source that special item for your needs.


We do give written quotations if required. We must emphasise however, that prices are subject to confirmation at time of order. This is because there are many factors impacting on our prices that are beyond our control, and therefore beyond our responsibility.


To minimize the chance of error in your order, please quote your Order or Invoice Number when making payments.

Freight charges apply. Australian Goods and Services Tax does not apply to orders for export. Please remember that you may have to pay customs and importing charges at your end (if applicable). We cannot supply full customs documentation, but all parcels include the required customs dockets.

We would also remind overseas customers that if, for any reason, goods are returned to us from overseas (eg for service, etc) it is absolutely essential that customs documents are included. If they are not, it can be a very costly process to obtain customs clearance and this charge must be paid by the customer. Failure to include customs documents may also result in long delays. Please note: Broken Hill Hobbies and Electronics cannot accept any responsibility or liability for the suitability of any product for use outside Australia, nor its compliance with local registrations.


Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods leave our warehouse. This is subject to and does not limit any rights you might have against any party in relation to the carriage of the goods, such as any rights against the carrier.


All claims for damaged or missing goods in transit must be filed with the carrier concerned. This does not in any way limit any rights you may otherwise have – eg against us under a warranty claim.


All goods in stock are dispatched promptly. Goods out of stock are back ordered and sent later at our expense unless we advise otherwise. Back order prices are firm for 30 days from the date of order. All back orders are dispatched as soon as we receive the goods from our suppliers. When we send a copy of your order back to you, the delay times will be quoted. Because this information is given to us by our suppliers, we cannot guarantee its accuracy. Minimum back order value is $10 otherwise the order is cancelled.


We use Australia Post for all our shipping although we may use specialist couriers should the need arise.

Shipping charges are calculated at the time of Check Out.

Delivery is via Australia Post Standard or Express delivery.

The option to pick up goods in store is also available via our Check Out.
